Discover Korčula (island)

Korčula (island)

Croatia’s fifth-largest island, Korcula has a length of 20 miles and a width of four to five miles on average. In ancient Greece the island was referred to as Black Korcula because of the dense forest.

Korcula Town (also known as Little Dubrovnik) is famous for its medieval squares, churches, palaces, and houses. Vela Luka and Lumbarda are also popular destinations. For a more secluded holiday, there are smaller towns and villages scattered across the island.

Despite being one of Croatia’s most treasured islands, Korcula isn’t quite as popular as some of its more northern counterparts, such as Brac and Hvar. The island may be more difficult to reach than Split or Dubrovnik.
